Apocalypse Approaches

Welcome to the Apocalypse Approaches alpha page! Here we have an early version of our project, which focuses on gameplay and makes some compromises compared to our intended final design
Project Description:
Play as a stoic knight in this time looping roguelike, racing against the ever ticking countdown as you defeat demons to gain back time and keep the time curse at bay. Let your time runout and you die, allowing the unending cycle to repeat, stuck in the apocalypse forever approaching. Will you allow yourself and the townsfolk to stay in this unending hellscape?
Use weapons and spells to defend against the entities as you go back out into the breach. To be victorious, you must manage time closely as you navigate a procedurally generated landscape before time runs out. Time is life, time is everything, when you don’t have enough money to buy something, or mana for spells, you can sacrifice time instead, but be careful of running out of time! To further increase your chances of stopping the apocalypse, use scrap and entropy to better your overall odds of success across the loops.
It's up to you to manage your time appropriately and prevent armageddon!

Notes About Current Version:
- These levels accurately reflect the general level design we will have going forward. However, not everything is currently implemented, as there are more possible room types and challenges we would like to have in any given room.
Known Issues:
- Depending on your hardware and web browser, you may encounter performance issues playing the browser version. There is a windows download that can be used as an alternative in this case.
- It is possible for the shadow enemy to get stuck in walls or out of encounter bounds. It will eventually find its way back to you, but this is not the intended design and may result in unintended additional time loss as a result.
- If you have steam open, it can interfere with your controller if you are using it. This does not always occur, and appears to depend on your controller config in steam. If you run into this issue, exiting steam seems to be a viable solution.
- When using a controller, if you nudge a mouse during gameplay attacks will sometimes start following the mouse direction as though you were playing with a mouse. Requires switching to keyboard or restart
